EDMOND, Ok— Authorities have identified an 18-year-old suspect in connection with a deadly mass shooting at Arcadia Lake that left dozens injured and a community shaken.
According to court documents, Jaylan Amhad Davis is wanted on a charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. The incident unfolded around 9 p.m. Sunday at the Scissortail Campground, where a large crowd had gathered for an unsanctioned event.
Officers with the Edmond Police Department responded to urgent calls reporting multiple gunshot victims, with dispatchers noting ongoing gunfire and chaotic conditions. First responders from several agencies rushed to the scene, calling for extensive medical support as the situation escalated.
Investigators say the gathering had been organized through social media and took place after dark. During the event, a fight reportedly broke out, which quickly turned violent and led to the shooting.
Initial reports indicated at least 10 people were hospitalized, but by Monday morning, officials confirmed that 23 individuals had been injured. Victims were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals, while others sought medical care independently.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the suspect and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials continue to urge anyone with information to come forward while emphasizing the seriousness of large, unsanctioned gatherings that can quickly become dangerous.
